Day 1 and away we go !

Had to get up at 5am. Our plane left at 7:10 to Atlanta, then onto Salt Lake getting in at 12:10 Mountain time. The ride out here was uneventful except for a little problem that I ran into in Atlanta.

We had to leave at such an ungodly hour that I had no time to relieve my bodily functions so when we got to Atlanta my body clock kicked in and told me that like it or not it was that time of day when you better find a restroom fast. I was happy to find a clean stall. When I entered the stall I noticed that there were flushable seat covers and good thing for me there were 3 left. I pulled one out and placed it on the seat then turned around to lower my drawers and QUSSS! there it went down the toilet and I didn't even get my pants unbuckeled yet. No worries mate, I said to myself. I took the next one out and placed it on the seat. This time  I was going to be very careful so I slowly turned around and lowered my  drawers and just before my ass hit the seat, QUESS! That toilet sucked it off the seat and down it went again. Ok now this is not funny anymore. Remenber I'm in a hurry and our plane is starting to board. One left, I pulled it out and placed it on the seat and holding it with one hand I turned and sat down quick. Quess! Not this time you sucker I though. I did it! That was when I looked up with Horror, The toilet paper dispenser was empty.

Yes this is our plane and that is our pilot looking at me but you know me always one step ahead of you all.

Here come the mountains. Looks cold. Hope we brought enough clothes.

Over the top and into Salt Lake City

No this is not a painting but it looks like one. Landing in Salt Lake.

There it is, Salt Lake.

Good pie

Before we even checked in to our motel we had to stop at Marie Callender's for some Razzelberry Pie.

Ok guys now on the ground. We're staying at Courtyard Marriott in Layton just north of the city.
This is the view out our window.

After resting a couple hours, we drove over to Antelope Island and hiked around the state park. Covering over 28,000 acres it is the largest island in the Great Salt Lake. It has over 18 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.

There is a 7.5 mile causeway over to the island.

The weather is 45-50 but the wind is 20 to 30 mph so it is cold when you get out in it.

Well here is proof we made it. Where is the hot chocolate?

Hiking on the island looking for Buffalo. Isn't that in NY?

No buffalo no elk just birds....... Booo. . . . . . .

Well there's always tomorow. Wow what a sun set...
